Woodbury Community Expo: The Basics

What’s happening at the Woodbury Community Expo this year?

Drawings for tablets, tours of the WCCO Mobile Weather Watcher Truck and food from area restaurants, for starters.

The Woodbury Community Expo, the largest such event in the east metro, is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Bielenberg Sports Center.

People will be able to peruse more than 160 booths from local businesses and organizations, sample food from vendors and enjoy entertainment and kid-friendly activities during the event, which the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce organizes.

Admission is free.

According to a release from the Chamber, booths will feature:

• Builders and landscapers
• Local schools
• Insurance agents
• Realtors
• Medical professionals
• Politicians
• Food vendors
• Civic organizations

Area restaurants providing food include:

• Acapulco
• Angelina’s Kitchen
• Brix
• Great Harvest Bread Co.
• Green Mill
• Joey’s Pizza
• Tavern Grill
• Zantigo’s

Activities and entertainment at the event include:

• Face painting
• Ronald McDonald show
• Bruce the Bug Guy
• K-9 demonstration
• University of Minnesota Raptor Center

Also, a guided tour of the WCCO Mobile Weather Watcher Truck from Woodbury resident and WCCO meteorologist Chris Shaffer is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Selections from Nunsense will also be performed by the cast of the upcoming production by the Merrill Community Arts Center.
