JuicingExperience: Day 11

Juicing for health for life!

Oh yeah!  Day 11.

I woke up a little sluggish today.  I am in hibernate mode with the cold weather.  However, I was also super productive.

Mr. Man was jealous that I only saved him a little juice from yesterday - because it was so awesome!  So today he reminded me to save him some.  :)

I made another awesome drink with a little inspiration from Jucing for Life:

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 peeled orange
  • 1 apple
  • 2 spinach leaves
  • 1/2 glass distilled water

Can you say delicious?  OMG!  Yes, it tasted like carrots, but with a hint of apple and oranges; couldn't taste the spinach.  I had to make alot of it so I could save some for Mr. Man.

Today I simply juiced; no cheating.  I even bought my son a loaded backed potato at Wendy's and did not get any for myself.  Instead, I juiced.  I am still planning on eating a little solds later as I am not going to start the total detox until after the holidays.

The reason I chose after the holidays to do the actual feast/fast was:

  1. Find juicing combinations that I simply love.
  2. Getting juicing down to an art form and into my daily life.
  3. Getting use to the vibrant taste of drinking veggies.
  4. After a juice detox you need to slowly re-introduce food.

The reintroduction of food will not work with the holiday schedule.  So, I have been eating smaller portion sizes and sensible, nutritious meals.  I even weaned from Starbucks lattes, pop, and chips.  I discovered herbal teas instead.

A friend of mine commented that I cannot juice forever.  I gave it some thought and said to myself, why not?  I am still getting servings of the fruits and vegetables and there are vegetables that are a source of protein.  Many people are juicing at least one meal per day and soothies for a healthy snack.  It is just a way of life and the choices one makes.

I choose to be healthier and am incorporating juice and all the benefits of the juice into my lifestyle.

Have a shared the indoor garden I finally started?  Just in case I am flashing a picture.

Kale, Cilantro, Spinach, Parsley and strawberries.  Should these root, the next step will be mint and basil. I purchased a lemon and lime so that I may harvest the seeds; the plants grow to be 3" tall. Going to plant the top of the pineapple too.  My next step will be Roma tomatoes.

This evening's dinner was leftover Yang's chicken fried rice with more juice.  :)  It was so good, I almost just drank all of it.
