The new school year for South Washington County students begins Sept. 4.
District 833 recently sent out a list of reminders and useful links for parents and students.
Free and Reduced Price Meals
Families can apply for free and reduced price meal benefits online. A new application must be submitted each year. For more information or need help with the process, call Nutrition Services at 651-458-6280.
Manage Your Child’s Meal Account
Bus route information has been mailed to all parents and/or guardians. Those who did not receive route information or have a question regarding the bus stop location can find help online at www.sowashco.k12.mn.us or through the Route Change Hotline at 651-768-5310.
Shots & Immunizations
District 833 is a “NO SHOTS - NO SCHOOL” participant. Immunization requirements are available on the Department of Health website.
Low-cost vaccinations are available through the Minnesota Vaccines for Children (MnVFC) Program. Only people who meet MnVFC eligibility guidelines can get MnVFC vaccine. There is a $12 administration fee for each MnVFC vaccination, but no one who qualifies for MnVFC vaccinations will be turned away if they are unable to pay the cost. To learn more, visit Washington County's webpage on the matter.
Back to School Events
In preparing for the opening of the 2012-13 school year, parents and families are welcome to visit their schools or program for introductions to staff and to the buildings.
Other events are scheduled at the schools, including schedule pick up and school pictures at the secondary schools. Information about these opportunities is being shared through school websites. Schools will notify parents of pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students of start dates. Contact your school with questions.
