Brief: District 833 Runs into Technical Issues

Problems with Internet and email have plagued the district this week.

South Washington County Schools ran into technical problems this week.

District 833 on Thursday morning sent out a statement about the issues.

The district is experiencing both email and internet issues this week. The Technology Team is working diligently to troubleshoot and resolve what is likely more than a single issue.

At the current time, district employees and students are able to send out email communications and gain intermittent use of the internet. While emails coming into the district may be delayed, they are being received.

One of the contributing factors to the issues we are experiencing is due to the need for upgrades to our network structure. Part of the plan for the 2012-13 school year was the replacement of the district’s firewall. The firewall was already on order and is currently in route to the district. The Technology Team will replace the firewall as soon as possible when it is received.

The staff will work to accommodate one another and the students as they work around the intermittent internet access issues.

Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve the issues being experienced.
