Brief: Woodbury, East Ridge Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists

Five students from Woodbury High School, two from East Ridge make the list.

Seven students who attend high school in Woodbury have been named semifinalists for the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The students from are: Elizabeth J. Cooper, Alexandra F. Grupe, Sheri Y. Li, Yang Liu and Jason P. Ostergaard.

The students from are: Lauren E. Yonkoski and Jiatao Yun.

The local students are among 16,000 nationwide who have been named semifinalists for the program, which will award 8,300 scholarships totaling $34 million next spring.
