District 833 Students Raise Money for Cancer

Local students partcipated in a Triathlon to raise money for kids with cancer.

A team of 45 students from District 833 is helping in the fight against cancer by participating in the MiracleKids Triathlon. The MiracleKids Triathlon is a 100 yard swim, three mile bike ride and half mile run organized by The Miracle of Mitch Foundation. The Miracle of Mitch Foundation was created in memory of a boy named Mitch who died of cancer in 2003 at they age of nine with the goal of helping children with cancer and their families.

To date, the District 833 team has raised $22,536 and is currently the top fundraising team for the event. All of the money that students have raised will go to support kids in Minnesota struggling with cancer treatments and their families.

Students competed at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis on Saturday, August 4 and will competed again at Lake Ann Park in Chanhassen on Saturday, August 18.
