Horner to speak on 'Minnesota's State of Mediocrity'

Tom Horner, 2010 Independence Party candidate for governor, will speak at the Woodbury-Cottage Grove League of Women Voters annual dinner meeting Wednesday, May 16, at the River Oaks Golf Clubhouse, 11099 Highway 61, Cottage Grove.

The public is invited to attend the dinner and/or the Horner talk.  Dinner is $24 at 6:30 p.m.  Horner’s talk at 7:15 p.m. is free.  Please RSVP to Kay at 651-739-7441 by Tuesday, May 1.

While Horner believes we are still the “State that Works,” he warns about “the troubling indicators that the future we are creating…will have fewer opportunities and a reduced quality of life. Shrill rhetoric and deep partisan divisions keep us from tackling the toughest challenges with the best solutions. How did we get to this point and what responsibility does each of us bear for the problems and the solutions?”
