Girls Basketball Coach Placed on Administrative Leave

Coach relieved of duties following investigation into unnamed allegations.

Nathan McGuire, Woodbury head girls basketball coach, has been placed on administrative leave, according to the Woodbury Bulletin.

McGuire was relieved from his coaching duties by the South Washington County School District because of an investigation into unnamed allegations, according to the report.

“We cannot comment on the situation regarding Nathan McGuire,” said South Washington County Schools Director of Communications Barbara Brown. “Upon hearing allegations, he was placed on paid administrative leave from his coaching responsibilities pending further investigation.”

According to the Woodbury Bulletin, Woodbury registered a 19-10 record under McGuire, and reached the Section 4AAA championship in 2013.

The last game McGuire coached was on Jan. 3 at East Ridge, according to the Woodbury Bulletin. The Royals are 0-5 in McGuire’s absence and 5-9 overall on the year.

Woodbury Activities Director Jason Gonnion told the Woodbury Bulletin McGuire was “on non-disciplinary administrative leave.”
