Interim Lake Middle School Principal Resigns

Just weeks after being named to the position, Rick Wippler announces resignation for personal reasons.

Citing personal reasons, Rick Wippler, who was only recently named the interim principal, has submitted his resignation.

Wippler was named the interim principal after Todd Hochman at Park High School in Cottage Grove in July.

Wippler's resignation is effective immediately, according to a release issued by South Washington County Schools this morning.

“It is unfortunate that Mr. Wippler cannot continue to fill this important position, but we are confident we can identify an outstanding leader for the Lake Middle School community,” Superintendent Mark T. Porter said in a statement. “I look forward to working with stakeholders in this process to place a high-quality educational leader in this position.”

The district will immediately post—for internal and external applicants—the position of Lake Middle School principal for the 2011-12 school year, according to the release. Applicants will be screened, interviewed and selected in accordance with district process and procedures.

Richard Paisner, current assistant principal at Lake Middle School, will be named acting principal until a candidate is named.
