Throughout the week, the district has been meeting with contractors and others to assess the damage from the recent construction accident at Liberty Ridge Site 2. The result of the conversations includes the continued goal of having the facility open and operating on the first day of school this fall; which is secondary to ensuring adequate safety measures are in place as the project resumes.

The district required the contractor to have the city building inspector review the repairs that have been made prior to proceeding with the work. ARY Architects has its construction superintendent on site for the remainder of the week to assure compliance with safety standards. These steps taken will result in the construction of a building that will provide a safe, structurally sound facility for use by our students and, barring unforeseen conditions, will be completed in time for the start of the 2012-13 school year.
