Viking Phil Loadholt to Appear at Wendy's Night for Woodbury's Red Rock Elementary

The right tackle will be on hand for the elementary school's fundraiser.

Minnesota Vikings right tackle Phil Loadholt will make an appearance Tuesday for a “Wendy’s Night” fundraiser for Woodbury’s Red Rock Elementary School.

“Having Phil there isn’t going to hurt the cause,” said Principal Andrew Caflisch.

The event is set for 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Wendy’s, and the 6-foot-8, 343-pound Loadholt will be on hand from 6-7 p.m. to meet people and sign autographs.

Even without an NFL player, the regular Wendy’s fundraisers are well attended, Caflisch said.

“It’s pretty amazing how many people you can get at a Wendy’s Night,” he said.

A portion of sales during the event will go back to Red Rock Elementary.

“The money goes right back into the classroom,” Caflisch said.

The Red Rock principal has his own history in the NFL as a punter.

“As far as preseason goes, yes. As far as the regular season goes, no,” Caflisch said. “I like to make that distinction.”

The Woodbury Wendy’s is located at 8376 Tamarack Village.
