Woodbury Football ‘Gears Up’ for Garage Sale

The football team is participating in this year's Woodbury Lions Community Garage Sale for the first time as part of an effort to raise funds for the program.

The Woodbury High School football team is hosting a garage sale as a way to raise money for “everything from coaching to equipment to socks,” says Julie Bunch, who helps with promotions.

“It’s just something new we’re trying this year,” she said.

Team members and parents have been working to get things ready for the Woodbury Lions Community Garage Sale, which runs May 9-11.

The football team is holding its sale at 1592 Tamberwood Trail:

  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 9
  • 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 10

As might be expected, there’s a good deal of sports equipment that will be available at the sale, along with typical items such as antiques, household goods and electronics, Bunch said.

It was nice to see the response from the community as the garage sale was being organized, she said.

“We had somebody call in and donate a whole bedroom fleet of furniture,” Bunch said.

More than 100 families are involved with the sale. At least moving things wasn’t a problem.

“We’ve got lots of muscle to help with that,” Bunch said.
