East Ridge American Legion Team Sweeps West St. Paul

East Ridge Raptors take 4-3 and 5-3 wins from West St. Paul Thursday in American Legion baseball.

East Ridge Woodbury Post 501 rolled over West St. Paul Thursday afternoon at Henry Sibley High School field, winning both halves of a 3rd District League "F" doubleheader, 4-2 and 5-3.

East Ridge improved to 3-3 on the season with the sweep.

"Today was very good for us," said head coach Tyler Welch. "We had a tough one the other night, had 11 walks, four errors (in a 7-6 loss to Mahtomedi Monday). So this was a good one to come out and play well and play clean games was the biggest thing.

"Pitching-wise both guys threw real well, Mitch Luebbe in the first game threw well and Mark Landgrebe, going to be a senior, threw real well for us," added Welch.
