East Ridge Girls Take Sixth Place at State Alpine Ski Meet
Elizabeth Kopnicki finishes sixth overall in the girls individual event.
The girls alpine skiing team had a strong showing Wednesday at the state meet in Biwabik, finishing sixth overall with a team score of 108.
Minnetonka won the state team title with 149 total points.
Individually, Elizabeth Kopnicki led the way with a sixth place finish. Her two-run time was a combined 1:15.96. Bloomington Jefferson’s Brenna Murray won the state individual title with a 1:13.39 finish.

Morgan Maxwell finished 52nd (1:24.54), Jessie Lepel finished 58th (1:25.26), Meghan Tomai finished 63rd (1:25.92), Bethany Wozniak finished 67th (1:28:56) and Jessica Schrimp finished 70th (1:31.94).
On the boys side, Woodbury High School’s Karl Lund finished 52nd overall with a total time of 1:20.9, and Matt Stefely finished 58th with a time of 1:22.8.
