East Ridge, Woodbury Fall In District Tourney

Both have games today, July 21, and must win to stay alive.

A pair of Woodbury-based American Legion baseball teams fell in the first round of the District 3 tournament on Wednesday.

The East Ridge American Legion baseball team dropped its first game at the district tournament, losing to Burnsville 10-2 at Victoria’s Lions Community Park.

The loss sends East Ridge on to face Faribault in the double-elimination tournament. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at Victoria.

Faribault enters the game having lost to St. Paul Park 10-0 in the first game of the district tournament.

Meanwhile, the Woodbury Blue American Legion baseball team fell 10-0 to Stillwater on Wednesday. That sets up a matchup with West St. Paul on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Red Wing.

Three teams advance to the state tournament out of District 3. In order to advance, East Ridge and Woodbury must now win four straight games and claim the second or third place position.
