Eight Woodbury Soccer Club Teams Notch League Championships

The teams are currently playing in post-season state tournaments.

Eight Woodbury Soccer Club teams won their league championships this summer.

“We are so proud of all of our teams,” Peter Rivard, director of coaching for WSC, said in a statement. “Our coaches work very hard to develop our players throughout the season and to have so many teams come out on top in league play is very exciting for them and everyone in the club. Regardless of how things turn out in post-season play, these eight teams have accomplished a lot.”

The WSC teams that won league championships are:

  • U11 Girls C2-1
  • U11 Girls C3
  • U12 Boys C1
  • U13 Girls C1
  • U13 Girls C2
  • U16 Boys C1
  • U16 Boys C3
  • U17 Boys C3

The above teams, along with a majority of teams from the club, are currently playing in post-season state tournaments.

For the U13 Girls C1 team, its winning record means the squad will be placed in the Premier League for the 2014 season at the U14 level. (The Premier League is the highest level of play within the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association system.)

Woodbury Soccer Club is holding tryouts July 28 through Aug. 4. Players can register ahead of time and walk-ups are also welcome.
