In Woodbury, Sunny Skies For Mid-Week Games

Woodbury, East Ridge and New Life sports squads able to get in entirety of schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday.

, and sports teams got a full schedule in as the best stretch of continued weather the spring sports season has seen.

East Ridge Baseball: Raptors 9, Hastings 4

The East Ridge baseball team claimed a 9-4 win at Hastings on Wednesday in nine innings as pitcher Mitch Luebbe claimed the win in relief of stater Eric Alsides.

Andy Sammon led the Raptors at the plate with a 2-for-4 day and one RBI. 

East Ridge, 9-4 overall and 7-4 in the Suburban East Conference (SEC), was scheduled to close out the week with a 4:15 p.m. Friday game.

Woodbury Baseball: Park 5, Royals 4

Park got its revenge for an earlier season loss to Woodbury by defeating the Royals 5-4 on Wednesday.

Sean Scanlon hit a solo home run for host Woodbury and scored three runs for the home side; however, starting pitcher Steven Fingleton took the loss after the Wolfpack pushed across the winning run in the seventh inning.

The Royals fell to 3-8 overall and 3-7 in the Suburban East with the loss; Woodbury was to play at Mounds View at 4:15 p.m. Friday.

New Life Baseball: Eagles Split Mid-Week Matchups

The New Life Academy baseball team defeated Bethany Academy 10-8 on Wednesday before losing 16-5 to Minnehaha Academy on Thursday to leave its record at 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Association as of week's end.

New Life hosts Trinity on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the .

East Ridge Softball: Raptors Top Raiders, Royals

Bouncing back from a 9-0 loss on Monday, the East Ridge softball team defeated Cretin-Derham Hall (11-2) and Woodbury (7-0) on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, to improve to 7-4 overall and 5-4 in the SEC.

The Raptors host Mounds View on Monday at 4:15 p.m.

Woodbury Softball: Royals Drop To 3-7 On Season

The Woodbury softball team lost 13-3 to Hastings on Wednesday and 7-0 to East Ridge on Thursday to fall to 3-7 this spring.

Katie Sieben leads the Royals with a .357 batting average, with Abbie Morris and Emily Beedle both hitting at .333.

Woodbury plays at Forest Lake on Monday at 4:15 p.m.

New Life Softball: Eagles Push Winning Streak To Seven Games

The New Life Academy softball team pushed its winning streak to seven games and its shutout streak to five games with back-to-back blankings of Bethany Academy (23-0) and Concordia Academy-Roseville (2-0) on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Katie Stodolka leads the Eagles with a .548 batting average, with Rebekah Schmidt hitting .424 and Natalie Schad at .400; Schmidt currently has a 1.30 earned run average off the pitching rubber with 119 strikeouts in 54 innings of work.

New Life travels to Eagan on Monday to take on Trinity at 4 p.m.

Woodbury Boys Lacrosse: Royals Fall To White Bear Lake

The Woodbury boys lacrosse team lost 11-9 to visiting White Bear Lake on Wednesday to fall to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in the SEC.

Blake Bergherr and Ben Alberts both scored four goals apiece for the Royals  in the loss.

Woodbury is slated to play at Breck at 7 p.m. Friday night.

Woodbury/East Ridge Girls Lacrosse: White Bear Lake 13, Griffins 8

A 13-8 loss at White Bear Lake dropped the Woodbury/East Ridge girls lacrosse team to 4-4 on the season.

Individual results were not available. The Griffins host Forest Lake at Woodbury High School on Monday at 6 p.m.

East Ridge/Park Boys Lacrosse: SWC 9, Roseville 4

The East Ridge/Park boys lacrosse team defeated visiting Roseville, 9-4, to improve to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in the SEC.

Brexton Turner led the squad with three goals, while Spencer Donnelly made five saves in goal.

The South Washington County co-op team travels to White Bear Lake on Monday at 6 p.m.

New Life Boys Golf: Eagles Seventh At Fox Hollow

The New Life Academy boys golf team finished seventh in a MCAA meet at Fox Hollow with a score of 185 on Thursday. Individual results were not available.
