Local Squads Able to Get Games in Despite Wet Conditions

Woodbury teams were able to get in most of their games on Thursday after snow forced the suspension of most Wednesday contests.

While Thursday was far from an ideal day for competition, local teams will take what they can get these days and most squads were able to get their games in—except for the baseball team, which had its game suspended because of a power outage at Midway Stadium.

Woodbury Baseball: Suspended

The Woodbury baseball team sits at 3-3 and trails Tartan 9-5 in a game to be made up at a later date after the Royals and Titans saw their Thursday non-conference matchup at Midway Stadium ceased due to .

Previous to Thursday's suspension, Woodbury fell to .500 in a 6-0 loss at Suburban East Conference foe Stillwater on Wednesday.

Woodbury Boys Lacrosse: Royals 11, Roseville 7

The Woodbury boys lacrosse team opened its spring season with an 11-7 win at Roseville on Wednesday.

Ben Alberts led the Royals with four goals and three assists in the game, with fellow co-captain Matt Wardell notching two goals and two assists; Blake Bergherr logged four assists to go with his one goal in the victory.

Woodbury is scheduled to host Prior Lake in a non-conference game at 7 p.m. Friday.

Woodbury Softball: Royals Win First of Season

The Woodbury softball team claimed its first win in four tries with a 6-3 win at conference foe White Bear Lake on Thursday.

Pitcher Abbie Morris claimed the victory and also went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBIs. The 1-3 Royals are scheduled to host Roseville at 4:15 p.m. Monday.

East Ridge Softball: Raptors 2, Roseville 0

A 2-0 win at Roseville improved the softball team to 3-1 on the season as pitcher Samantha Gregory hurled a complete-game, two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts.

The Raptors are slated to host Cretin-Derham Hall at 4:15 p.m. Monday.

East Ridge Baseball: Park 8, Raptors 5

Park may have been sitting at the foot of the Suburban East, but the Wolfpack were able to hand host East Ridge its first loss of the season on Thursday with an 8-5 defeat of the Raptors at the .

East Ridge pitcher Grady Rolando took the loss as Park won its first game of the year.

The Raptors travel to Roseville for a 4:15 p.m. game on Monday.

East Ridge/Park Boys Lacrosse: Stillwater 5, SWC 3

The East Ridge/Park cooperative boys lacrosse team fell to 1-3 on the season with a 5-3 loss at Stillwater on Wednesday.

Individual results were not available. The South Washington County squad is scheduled to host Rochester John Marshall/Lourdes on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Woodbury, East Ridge Girls Golf: Raptors Fifth, Royals Eighth At Prestwick

The East Ridge and Woodbury girls golf teams competed in a "home" meet against its Suburban East opponentts at Prestwick Golf Course in the heart of town on Thursday.

The Raptors took fifth with a score of a score of 202; Woodbury took eighth with a 205 showing.

East Ridge Boys Tennis: Stillwater 5, Raptors 2

The East Ridge boys tennis team lost, 5-2, to Suburban East rival Stillwater on Thursday. Individual results were not available.

New Life Baseball: St. Paul Academy 10, Eagles 5

New Life Boys Golf: Eagles Sixth at MCAA Meet

The New Life Academy boys golf team carded a 194 to take sixth in its Minnesota Christian Athletic Association meet at Bent Creek Golf Course on Thursday. Individual results were not available.

The baseball team lost, 13-5, to Liberty Academy on Thursday. Individual results were not available.
