Raptor Football Hopes for Next Step in 2013 Season

It was a season of “almosts” for the East Ridge Raptors in 2012. After posting a .500 record in conference play, the Raptors went 1-1 in the postseason, falling to perennial power St. Thomas Academy in the Class 5A playoffs.

This season, the schedule tilts in East Ridge’s favor. Strong squads from Stillwater and nearby Cretin-Derham Hall have to come to The Nest for key games in late September and early October. And the season closes with a road game at Hastings.

Here’s a full look. All games kick off at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 29 – vs. White Bear Lake

Friday, Sept. 6 – at Roseville

Friday, Sept. 13 – at Woodbury

Friday, Sept. 20 – vs. Park of Cottage Grove

Friday, Sept. 27 – vs. Cretin-Derham Hall

Friday, Oct 4 – at Forest Lake

Friday, Oct. 11 – vs. Stillwater

Wednesday, Oct. 16 – at Hastings

The Section 4-6A playoffs will kickoff Tuesday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 24. The state semifinals are Nov. 14 through 16 at Metrodome’s Mall of America Field for their final run there. The Prep Bowl is set for Nov. 29 and 30.
