Special Olympics Coming to Woodbury, Volunteers Needed

Events are set for mid-August at the Bielenberg Sports Center.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Special Olympics Minnesota's 2013 fall Games, which will be held Aug. 16-18 at the Bielenberg Sports Center in Woodbury.

Volunteers can assist with timing events, distributing awards, keeping score, staging competitions, set up and tear down for events, and more.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. People can sign up via the Special Olympics website.

The events include softball, bocce ball, golf and equestrian competitions. The fall 2013 Games will also be held in Oakdale and North Branch.
