Woodbury completes season sweep of cross-town rival with a 3-1 win at the Bielenberg Sports Center; Raptors boys hockey tops Forest Lake as Royals boys basketball loses at Owatonna.

The Woodbury and East Ridge girls hockey teams faced off against each other to close out their regular season campaigns on a Saturday that also saw the Raptors boys hockey squad win and the Royals boys basketball team lose.

Royals defender Sam Greeley opened the scoring at 5:40 of the first period,with teammate and forward Jessica Bonfe logging a goal at 11:27 to give Woodbury a 2-0 lead before Raptors forward Erica Michaud tallied what would be her team's only goal at 16:25 of the opening frame.

Leading 2-1 into the second period, Woodbury got the final score of the game off the stick of forward Rachel Letsche at 7:45 as the second half of the contest passed without further goals.

East Ridge goaltender Katie Ahmann made 37 saves in defeat, while Woodbury netminder Emilie Tappe snagged the win with 13 stops.

The Royals closed out the regular season with a record of 6-17-2 overall and 3-13-2 in the Suburban East Conference; the Raptors enter this coming week's sectional playoffs with a 6-18-1 mark after going 1-16-1 in its initial SEC campaign.

East Ridge Boys Hockey: Raptors 2, Forest Lake 0

The East Ridge boys hockey team improved to 8-13 overall and 4-11 in the Suburban East with a 2-0 victory against Forest Lake at the Cottage Grove Ice Arena.

After two scoreless periods, Raptors defenseman Sean Rudin and forward Alex Idso netted goals in the final frame to propel the hosts to the victory as goaltender Andrew McDonough earned the shutout victory.

East Ridge travels to the St. Croix Recreation Center to take on Stillwater at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Woodbury Boys Basketball: Owatonna 79, Royals 55

The Woodbury boys basketball team fell to 7-10 on the season with a 79-55 non-conference loss at Owatonna. Individual results were not available.

The Royals host River Falls (Wis.) at 7 :15 p.m. Tuesday.

Woodbury Wrestling: Royals 2-1 at Robbinsdale Armstong Tourney

The Woodbury wrestling team went 2-1 at the Robbinsdale Armstrong Tournament, defeating Orono, 64-6, and Armstong, 61-51, while losing to Bethlehem Academy, 41-24.
