Starbucks Drive-Thru, Cowboy Jack’s Volleyball, Roadwork Assessments: Woodbury Council Preview

The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at City Hall.

Volleyball courts at Cowboy Jack’s, a drive-thru at Starbucks and a public hearing on 2013 road projects are on the agenda for Wednesday night’s Woodbury City Council meeting.

Cowboy Jack’s

Cowboy Jack’s, which opened in early May, is seeking a permit for outdoor activities, including volleyball.

Owner Chris Diebold previously told Patch there are also plans for games, such as bag toss, at the restaurant. People were signing up for volleyball leagues before Cowboy Jack’s opened, he said.

The volleyball court is planned to go in just north of the building.

The city Planning Commission on May 6 recommended approval of the request by a 5-1 vote under several conditions, including having activities end by 11 p.m.

A public hearing on the volleyball court is scheduled for Wednesday.

Starbucks

The Valley Creek Plaza Starbucks plans to build a small addition that would allow for a drive-thru at the site.

The 600-square-foot addition would also feature a new seating area and be accompanied by other interior improvements, according to a council memo.

A public hearing is scheduled, and the Planning Commission recommended approving the addition by a 6-0 vote.

Roadwork

A public hearing is planned on assessments for the 2013 roadwork projects for Woodbury.

The neighborhoods include:

  • Tahoe Road;
  • Carver Park Drive and Carver Park Circle;
  • Woodlane Hills and Victoria Place;
  • Glen Road (Century Avenue to Radio Drive); and
  • Rolling Acres and Century Avenue (Kalen Drive to Military Road).

A breakdown of the assessments by neighborhood can be found on the city’s website.

Following the assessment hearing, the council will likely award the contract for the work.

The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at City Hall.

  • hear a presentation on the city’s Take Heart Woodbury campaign.
  • approve an amendment to the liquor license for Angelina’s Kitchen that would allow alcohol to be served on its patio.
