Woodbury Girls Fall Short in Section Finals
Preller finishes his Woodbury coaching career with 42-39 s loss to White Bear Lake.
The girls basketball team lost a hard-fought, low-scoring Section 4AAA final Thursday night to White Bear Lake.
Although the Royals led by a point after the first half, and were up by as many as five points in the second, White Bear Lake fought back with strong defense and some critical baskets to win by three, 42-39.
Royals star and leading scorer Michelle Young—who played in her last game for Woodbury—finished with 12 points, eight of which came in the second half. Young passed the 1,000-point mark for her career in Saturday night's game.

Thursday's loss also marked coach Dave Preller's goodbye, as he has announced he from both coaching and teaching at Woodbury at the end of the year.
