Woodbury Girls Hockey Falls to Rosemount
Royals can't overcome four second-period goals by Irish.
The girls hockey team put up a fight against top-seeded Rosemount in Wednesday’s Section 3AA quarterfinal, but the Irish were too much in a 4-3 victory at the Rosemount Community Center.
The Royals (7-18-2) took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal from April Weller, then got goals from Emily Moris in the second and Kayla Falconer in the third. But the Irish (19-5-1) used four second-period goals to take control of the game.
Woodbury goalie Emilie Tappe turned away 32 of the 36 shots she faced in the game.
