Woodbury Grad’s Ultimate Frisbee Team Wins National Title

Sandy Jorgensen's squad won the USA Ultimate National Championship tournament in Texas last month.

Woodbury High School graduate Sandy Jorgensen’s team won the USA Ultimate National Championship tournament held in Frisco, Texas, Oct. 17-20.

Jorgensen plays for the DC Scandal out of the nation’s capitol.

Winning this tournament qualifies Scandal for the 2014 World Ultimate Club Championships, which will take place Aug. 2-9 in Lecco, Italy. Jorgensen has played for DC Scandal for four years.

The 2005 Woodbury High School graduate earned degrees in finance, economics and international political economics from the University of Wisconsin in 2010.

Jorgensen graduated from Georgetown Law School in May 2013 and currently is an associate at Stewart and Stewart, a law firm specializing in international trade law. She lives in Washington, DC.
