Woodbury's Whitney V. Makes Vikings Cheerleader Squad

She was making the rounds at the Vikings draft party Thursday night at Mall of America Field.

Whitney V., of Woodbury, made the 2013 roster for the Minnesota Vikings cheerleader team.

She was one of 52 candidates vying for a spot on the 20-member squad, which invited people to cast votes for their favorites.

Whitney was making the rounds with her fellow cheerleaders Thursday night at the Vikings draft party at Mall of America Field in Minneapolis. The event included tours of the facility, the unveiling of the new Vikings uniforms and other events and activities.

The team made a splash during the first round of the draft, selecting Florida defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, Florida State cornerback Xavier Rhodes and Tennessee receiver Cordarrelle Patterson. It was the first time the team has made three picks in the first round since 1967, according to the Pioneer Press.

Whitney's fellow cheerleaders insisted she take a photo with the Patch editor. The team asks that they do not divulge their last names.
