Woodbury's Norsten Wins State Swimming Title

Woodbury High School junior claims Class AA championship in 200-yard individual medley, second in 100-yard butterfly as teammate Lugg medals in two events.

Woodbury's Greg Norsten closed out his junior year in the pool with a state title in the 200-yard individual medley at the final round of competition at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center on Saturday night.

"It's phenomenal, just surreal," he said. "It's something I've gone after for the last two years."

Norsten claimed a sizable victory in the event, besting second-place finisher Max Cartwright of Edina by 1.37 seconds with a time of 1:51.87 seconds to earn All-American status.
