Work Begins on Jake’s Wayback Burgers in Woodbury

The Woodbury location will be the first Jake's Wayback Burgers to open in Minnesota.

The interior of the former Kelly Gallery location in Woodbury has been gutted as crews make way for Jake’s Wayback Burgers.

The home of the “triple triple” (a nine-patty concoction), Jake’s Wayback Burgers plans to open at 8470 City Centre Drive, near Subway and Von Hanson’s Meats. (Kelly Gallery this spring moved next door to the City Centre Caribou Coffee.)

The Woodbury location will be the first Jake’s Wayback Burgers to open in Minnesota, Gillian Maffeo, director of marketing, told Patch in March.

The menus vary by location, but all feature signature burgers and sandwiches, French fries and onion rings, hotdogs, a variety of shakes and “Irish nachos,” Maffeo said.

An opening date for the Woodbury location hasn’t been set, she said, but it is expected to be up and running sometime this year.

The company was founded in 1991 as Jake’s Hamburgers with a single restaurant in Newark, DE, according to its website. Jake’s Hamburgers changed its name to Jake’s Wayback Burgers in August 2010, and there are several locations across the country.
