Flu Shot: Love it or Hate it?

I will try to save you the visual, but I was miserable Tuesday through Thursday last week with some type of stomach flu.  

I posted how sick I was on my Facebook, and it lead to a whole bunch of mixed opinions, which is why I want to blog and get your opinions on it!  

I made a statement that this is the only year I have ever gotten the flu shot, and the only year I've gotten the flu—three times!

Some people swear by the flu shot, and others (me), swear at it! I won't ever get it again.  I am convinced putting the dead flu in your body can't be good.  

Then, people argue that there are so many types of flus, that the shot can only protect you against that type. My husband and I ran into a Chiropractor we know from different networking events, and he handed me a flyer about all the "plastic and crap" they put in the flu shots, and a whole page of reasons why not to get a flu shot.  

Do you get the flu shot? Have you ever gotten sick after having it? Do you recommend getting it?
