Tropical Ballroom's Senior Citizen Dance Parties

I'm following up from my announcing we (Tropical Ballroom) were bringing back our ! Yesterday was the kick off and it was a success! 

Background: We , just down the hall in the same Valley Creek Mall, but our new location is not as huge, and a different layout, so I approached (Woodbury Parks and Recreation) and told them our Senior Citizen crowd is begging for us to bring back our Old-time Dances, but we just don't have the time or space at our new studio, could we host them there?

Polly, Director of Parks and Recreation at Central Park, is so easy and fun to work with! We were able to offer everything the same—the day (Wednesday), the time (1-4 p.m.), the band (Hank Thunander), admission price ($8), the refreshments, etc. and our Tropical Ballroom staff are still hosts of the party too, we're just holding them offsite.

This way we can continue teaching our regularly scheduled dance lessons in our studio even when the Senior dance is going on too.

Our Seniors were so happy to be back dancing with us in Woodbury yesterday! The lower level Valley Creek rooms A & B opened up, combined, worked great for the band and dancers. I think the new location for the Senior Dances is going to work out well.  (We still have our Friday night and Saturday night Dances in our studio, Tropical Ballroom).

Our "regulars" told us it was a toss up which they had missed more—the dancing, or watching our kids grow up (Lucas just turned 3 and Olivia is 17 months). Hence the picture of dancers, Fred & Celia with our Olivia!

The Woodbury Bulletin newspaper came by for an interview, pictures and video, so maybe we'll have access to all the dancing photos next week! The next Old-time dance will be Wednesday, June 6, from 1-4 p.m.
