Woodbury Royalty's 4th Annual Fundraiser Luau

Woodbury Royalty's 4th Annual Luau Fundraiser

You might've just missed one of the best family-friendly parties in town!

Last Saturday night was the Woodbury Royal Ambassador's 4th Annual Luau fundraiser event. My husband James and I have sponsored it all four years, by providing dance lessons to the princesses and their dance partners, so that they could help provide fun entertainment for their guests at their event. (You might have even seen them dance with us on stage for Central Park's 10-year anniversary last November!)

No—there was not a real pig roast at this Luau, but for only $20 admission for the whole family, everyone enjoyed barbeque-pork sandwiches, chips, and pop, which was generously donated by Jerry Kane's catering, as well as we provided dance lessons and performances for the attendees, and for the even more-limber kids, we had a hula hoop and limbo contest (both with gift card prizes). And, everyone enjoyed going back for seconds at the bake sale and silent auction!

Special guest appearances included the St. Paul Winter Carnival and Klondike Kate, who each presented our Woodbury Royalty by name and sponsor up on stage. My husband James and I were thanked for the Dancing, Emceeing and DJ'g the music. King of Kings Lutheran Church's Pastor and member were honored and thanked for donating the space as well! Daryl Wahl was co-host of the evening, and continues to be the fabulous Director of the Woodbury Royal Ambassadors.

The parents deserve a huge thank you too. These young ladies travel to over 100 events per year, representing our community: The City of Woodbury. This fundraiser each year is to raise money to help pay these expenses, including parade entry fees, float materials, costumes, and entertainment as a Royal Family. A lot of great friendships are made, and even our two kids- Lucas age 3 and Olivia age 2, asked "When do we see our friends next?" as we were packing up at the end of the night! This is a great group of people. They will make appearances at your business or event too; all you have to do is ask!
