25-Mile Walk from Woodbury to Work, Man Raises $10,000 for Boys and Girls Club

Chuck Armstrong left his Woodbury home for a long walk to his workplace in Burnsville on Oct. 30.

He made the 25 miles, and he made his goal, as well.

Woodbury resident Chuck Armstrong on Oct. 30 walked 25 miles to work as part of a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of the Twin Cities. He sits on the organization's board of directors.

Armstrong reached his goal, raising more than $10,000.

The 50-year-old, who works as the chief legislative officer for Pawn America, said the Twin Cities Boys and Girls Club had to shut down for two weeks during the holidays last year.

“It’s very important that we don’t let that happen again,” Armstrong told Patch before the walk.
