Community Thread Seeks Applications for Rake a Difference Day

Community Thread is now accepting applications from individuals who would like volunteer assistance with having their yard raked this year and registration forms from interested volunteers.

Community Thread is organizing its 16th annual Rake A Difference Day.

Rake a Difference Day is an initiative that matches senior citizens and people with disabilities in Washington County with volunteer groups that can assist with yard-raking.

Community Thread is now accepting applications from individuals who would like volunteer assistance with having their yard raked this year, and registration forms from interested volunteers.

If you would like to receive an application, call Community Thread at 651-439-7434 or visit www.communitythreadmn.org.  Volunteer groups will rake yards on or around the national date of Make A Difference Day, which falls on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Last year, Community Thread organized more than 600 volunteers to rake yards for nearly 90 seniors and people with disabilities in Washington County. Volunteer groups included families, scout troops, rotary clubs, school groups, companies and neighborhood associations.
