Woodbury Cub Scouts Launch Rockets at Carver Lake Park

Members of the Minnesota Amateur Spacemodeler Association provided their expertise for the event.

Members from the Minnesota Amateur Spacemodeler Association (MASA) were on hand at Carver Lake Park to assist Cub Scouts from Packs 513, of Woodbury, and 471, of south Maplewood, with a rocket launch.

The scouts had built rockets at a pack meeting last fall. Now the MASA members helped them to send those rockets flying.

The event was a big hit, and provided both entertainment and education. MASA members brought their equipment and expertise, and the kids were excited to learn and observe.

Once the MASA experts had calibrated everything properly and given the all-clear, the scouts loved getting to move the necessary switches and push the button to send the rockets flying. It was a fun evening capped off by a potluck in the park.
