Check Out A Little Play About A Rock-Eating Monster

This week "Three things to do in the Twin Cities area" highlights a children's production, a heavy metal band and an art crawl.

The heavy metal band will perform in town as part of its Madness at the Core of Time Tour 2013. Special guests are Whitechapel, Iron Reagan and A Band of Orcs. The concert starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at First Ave., 701 First Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN. Tickets are $20 in advance and $23 at the door.

Artists will share and sell their fine art in the Maple Grove Government Center, 12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway, Maple Grove, MN. The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6.

This Children’s Theater production is about Mongo, a rock-eating creature, and Peter Berserker, owner of Pete's Luncheonette. It is presented by the Phipps Center for the Arts, 109 Locust Street, Hudson, WI. The play will start at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Black Box Theater. Tickets are $10 for children and $14 for adults.
