All online tickets have been sold for the winter beer festival at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, but you may be able to find some tickets at stores. Adults 21 and older with a ticket can sample more than 150 local, regional and national beers from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m Saturday, Jan. 25. No children are allowed. There will also be “live music, gourmet food from local food trucks and carts, a homebrew contest, Silent Disco, and fun winter activities,” according to the carnival’s website. The fairgrounds are located at 1265 Snelling Ave. N., St Paul.
If you are a daredevil with a creative bent, you can show off your talents at the Art Sled Rally at Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25. You must show up at least a half hour prior to the event with a helmet, a waiver for each rider and a parental consent form for each child. There is a sled-building workshop from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24. The park is located at 3400 15th Ave. S., Minneapolis.
Dog shows? Pshaw! This weekend you can watch more than 200 cat breeds at the Saintly City Cat Club’s Championship Cat Show at Roy Wilkins Exhibit Hall. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. Tickets are available at the door and cost $4 for adults, and $3 for adults 65 and older and children 10 and younger. Parking is available in the St. Paul RiverCentre Parking Ramp, 175 West Kellogg Blvd, St. Paul.
