Member of St. Croix Catholic School’s Board of Directors Arrested in Prostitution Sting

Thomas Allen Houle, 46, of Stillwater, was one of 19 men charged with misdemeanors during the two-day police operation conducted at the LivInn Hotel in Fridley. He is listed as a member of St. Croix Catholic School's Board of Directors.

In addition to the arrest of Woodbury resident—and former Hill-Murray football coach—Mark Mauer in a prostitution sting in Fridley last month, another community leader also faces charges stemming from the police operation. A member of the St. Croix Catholic School’s Board of Directors was also arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from an undercover police officer. Thomas Allen Houle, 46, of Stillwater, was one of 19 men charged with misdemeanors during the two-day police operation conducted at the LivInn Hotel in Fridley. The case remains under investigation. Houle is also listed as being a coach for a youth girls softball team for the St. Paul Catholic Athletic Association. Calls placed to Houle requesting comment were not returned. …

Update: Police Believe Suspect May Be Connected to Other Woodbury Residential Burglaries

A woman was arrested Wednesday in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills neighborhood.

Police believe a woman arrested in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills neighborhood Wednesday may be tied to other residential burglaries in the city. Investigators are “still trying to figure out how extensive those connections are,” said Michelle Okada, Woodbury Police spokeswoman. The suspect, Christine Celeste Burtman, will be charged with two counts of attempted burglary and a count of possessing burglary tools, along with a parole violation, Okada said. Suspect Arrested on Suspicion of Burglary in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills

One resident was home Wednesday afternoon when the suspect tried to enter her house.

An individual was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Woodbury on suspicion of burglary. Police got the call about a suspicious situation in the city’s Homestead Hills neighborhood at about 12:30 p.m., said Woodbury Police spokeswoman Michelle Okada. As of Wednesday afternoon, police were unsure whether the suspect gained entry to multiple homes, she said, and authorities were still deciding what she may be charged with. The person was arrested along Greenbriar Lane, in the neighborhood near the Bielenberg Sports Center. In Woodbury, Police Arrest Man Suspected of Selling ‘Large Amounts’ of Cocaine

Dmitry Anatolyevich Sorkin, of Apple Valley, was apprehended with the help of an informant.

An Apple Valley man suspected of being a major drug dealer in Washington County was arrested in Woodbury earlier this month and now faces a felony drug charge. Dmitry Anatolyevich Sorkin, 27, allegedly sold $1,500 worth of cocaine to a Washington County Narcotics Unit informant near the intersection of Valley Creek Road and Radio Drive on Dec. 12, according to the criminal complaint. The informant purchased more than two ounces of the drug—and made plans to buy another four ounces later—following an investigation that led authorities to believe Sorkin was “distributing and selling large amounts of cocaine in the Washington County area,” the complaint says. DNA Evidence Leads Police to Woodbury Burglary Suspect

Timothy Russell Isaacson, 24, was sentenced for third-degree burglary after he broke into a Woodbury garage.

A metal rod left at the scene of a Woodbury garage break-in led police to a suspect who was recently convicted of a felony burglary charge stemming from a 2-year-old case.  Timothy Russell Isaacson, 24, was sentenced to 27 months in prison, with credit for 418 days served, following his third-degree burglary conviction. According to the criminal complaint: Police on July 17, 2010, were dispatched to a home at the 7200 block of Guider Drive on a report of a burglary. The homeowner said he was awoken by his car alarm, and saw a red Chevy Cavalier speed off. Woman Charged After Police Bust Group Allegedly Stealing Mail in Woodbury

Woodbury police last winter issued a warning to residents about an increase in mail theft in the area.

A Roseville woman has been charged with felony aiding and abetting mail theft stemming from a December 2011 incident in Woodbury.  Lori Ann Grimm, 35, was among four people stopped in a van following a Dec. 9, 2011, tip about mail theft at the 7700 block of Havenwood Circle, according to the criminal complaint. Inside the van, police found mail from at least nine people, Social Security numbers from eight people, ID from at least nine people and washed or altered checks totaling $9,000, the complaint says.  Last winter Woodbury police issued a warning about an uptick in mail theft in the city. The following information was obtained from recent police reports.  An officer freed a cat from a sewer drain at the 10700 block of Knollwood Lane and returned the animal to its owner. A man at the 3000 block of Devonshire Drive started yelling at his mother’s neighbor about an incident involving his dog a month ago. He was swearing at the neighbor because he had kicked his dog. But the neighbor denied it, and said he used his foot to push the dog away from him after he was attacked. A tree-trimming crew in the area told police the man was out of control and screaming for no reason. Drugs and Warrants: 5 Arrested at Tamarack Village in Woodbury

Police were running plates and came across a stolen vehicle Monday night.

Five people—with either warrants or drugs—were arrested Monday night at Tamarack Village. Police were running license plates when they came across a stolen 2005 Dodge Durango at about 7 p.m., Woodbury police spokeswoman Michelle Okada said. Witnesses said police drew their guns, and Okada said officers conducted a “high-risk stop” and followed proper procedure. Woodbury Police Make Arrest in Craigslist Armed Robbery Case

The incident started at Central Park during a supposed sale for an iPad, and police believe the suspect could be involved in other similar thefts in recent months.

Woodbury police have arrested a man who allegedly pulled a pistol and robbed a West St. Paul man of $350 during a Sept. 6 incident that began at Central Park. Investigators believe the suspect could be linked to similar thefts at Central Park since June, Cmdr. Jay Alberio told Patch. The latest incident began at Central Park at a little before 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 during a supposed transaction for an iPad via Craigslist, according to a police report. At the east doors of the indoor park, the alleged victim met the suspect, who told him he needed a ride to a friend’s house.
