Brunch Options Expand in Woodbury

Sole Mio to begin offering brunch this Sunday, Lakes Tavern started it up last weekend.

Before he opened Sole Mio Ristorante, Woodbury resident Angelo Montes won several awards for brunch as a chef at other restaurants. “The place I was before was filled every Sunday,” he said. Now, Montes is bringing brunch to Woodbury. Sole Mio will begin offering brunch ($15 adults, $7 kids 5-12, free for children 4 and younger) on Sundays starting Jan. 20. Meanwhile, Lakes Tavern & Grill started its own Sunday brunch on Jan. 13. The buffet brunch at Sole Mio, which opened at the Valley Creek Mall in October 2012, will feature an “American station” and an “Italian station,” Montes said. Quiche: The Perfect Easter Meal

Looking to host a gathering this holiday? Try this quiche recipe—even my mother could love it.

There are many options in Woodbury for Easter brunch. Although I typically like going out to brunch for Easter, I often find it a little frustrating. By the time I fill my daughter’s plate at the buffet, help my elderly relatives with their plates and sit down to enjoy my meal, my food is cold. Also, our church service ends around noon, and we like to stay and visit for a little while—so we don’t usually make brunch plans until around 2 p.m., which is late by Easter brunch standards. By 2 p.m. the servers aren’t refilling the platters as often, some of the food is gone or getting cold and overall it’s not a good experience. The other option is to eat at home. When it comes to preparing a meal at home for Easter, ham seems to be the fan …
