Woodbury Police Use GPS to Track Burglary Suspect’s Movements

Woodbury police in January were granted a 60-day warrant to place a GPS monitor a suspected burglar’s car. The vehicle later that month made several short stops at Woodbury homes during early-morning hours, and two residents later reported vehicle break-ins. Now, John David Callinan, 30, of Oakdale, faces two felony burglary charges. According to the criminal complaint: While the device was in place on a car Callinan is known to frequently drive, the vehicle went through several residential neighborhoods in Woodbury between 2:28 a.m. and 3:51 a.m. on Jan. 25. Woodbury Police Investigating Burglary in Heritage Park Neighborhood

The homeowner thought the suspect may have been in the home at the time, leading to a “heightened response” from authorities.

The door of a home at the 3000 block of Frontier Drive was broken during an apparent burglary Wednesday afternoon in Woodbury. Police got the call at about 1:30 p.m., and the homeowner had a feeling that the suspect may have still been in the home, leading to a “heightened response” that included a K-9 unit being called in, said Public Safety spokeswoman Michelle Okada. Detectives were investigating the incident Wednesday, May 8, she said, and further details of the crime weren’t immediately available. Police were still in the area as of 3:40 p.m., a witness told Patch. Woodbury Man Accused of Burglary in the Buff

He also answered the door naked when officers arrived and said, "I've been waiting for you," according to the criminal complaint.

A Woodbury man faces a second-degree burglary charge after he allegedly broke into a home while he was naked. Scott Jeffrey Rowell, 35, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine stemming from the Nov. 27, 2012, incident at a home on Hillingdon Road. According to the criminal complaint: The homeowner—a woman who was home with her four children (all under the age of 7)—called police to report that a naked man had broken into her home. She heard loud noises coming from downstairs, grabbed a flashlight and went to investigate. She saw the front door of her home being forced open and the naked man entered, yelling something she couldn’t understand. The home’s alarm had also been tripped. Woodbury Man Sentenced in New Life Church and Academy Burglary

James Howard Smith initially blamed the thefts on “Green Eyes,” an individual police learned was in custody at the time of the theft.

A Woodbury man was recently sentenced on a burglary conviction after he stole several items from New Life Church and Academy in August 2011. James Howard Smith, 30, had a 21-month prison sentence stayed and was placed on probation for five years on the grounds that he remain law abiding and have no contact with the institution, among other conditions. Woodbury police the evening of Aug. 19, 2011, were dispatched to New Life Church and Academy on a report that someone was inside the building. Officers searched the complex and made contact with an employee, who told them he saw a man inside the school who ran away. On Aug. 22, a school official contacted police about several missing items, electronics valued at nearly $3,000 total, according…

Drunk at Work, Neighbor Prevents Burglary, Mail Mystery: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A resident called police about a man at the 6000 block of Lake Road who went up to a house, tried the doors, and then tried to flag down vehicles. Police located the man, who said he was lost and stopped to ask for help. A Wal-Mart manager flagged down an officer at about 7:45 p.m. after an employee showed up for work drunk. The manager sent the worker home for the day but saw him walking toward his vehicle. Police made contact with the man, who showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking, performed poorly on field-sobriety tests, and registered a .203 on a preliminary breath test. He was arrested on suspicion of DWI. An officer at about 2 a.m. questioned a man who …

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A resident at the 7100 block of Foxboro Lane North reported that a pet-entry door on a door of her home had been damaged while she was out of town. A resident reported that there were several wolves in the Stonemill Farms neighborhood. Police were called to a home on Springbook Place on a report of a burglary in progress—a resident reported seeing a masked burglar dressed in black inside the house. However, there was no sign of forced entry and no evidence a burglary had occurred. Police interviewed the resident later, and she admitted she may not have seen a burglar, but came home and a door was unsecured and she got scared, and didn’t expect such a large police response, …

Updated: Woodbury Police Respond to Daytime Residential Burglary on Eagle Ridge Road

Officers were still on the scene around noon on Thursday.

Update: 2:04 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28 The woman who was home at the time of the burglary said she was scared but ready to act if she came across the perpetrators. Tashney Seiger, 18, said she came downstairs after showering and noticed it was cold. A back patio door was open and the drapes were blowing into the home, at the 600 block of Eagle Ridge Road. She said she went to get her keys—she has a mace canister attached to them—and noticed her wallet was out of her purse. “I was just in panic mode,” Seiger said. “I was ready to punch anyone that came near me.” The thieves got away with either $6 or $11, she said. “I’m not sure if I had two fives or one,” Seiger said, adding that nothing else was missing.
