Indecent Exposure, Car Sabotage, Suspicious Shoveling: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Jan. 29 through Feb. 4.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A burning smell reported at LeeAnn Chin was possibly a burned transformer, but not a fire. Police were called about a likely theft at SuperAmerica. A woman came in and pre-paid for $5 worth of gas, then milled around in the store for about 15 minutes. When she left, she yelled out to an older woman at the car, “Mom, I hope you pre-paid.” Employees later learned she had stolen a bag of dog food. She may have also stolen a lighter, candy and trinkets. Officers advised workers and a customer at Car Care that a dispute over a vehicle was a civil issue. DNA Evidence Links Man to Woodbury Vehicle Break-ins

Ace Arthur Collins, 25, was sentenced on a burglary charge related to incidents at an apartment complex on Guider Drive.

A St. Paul man was sentenced after DNA evidence linked him to a series of vehicle break-ins at a Woodbury apartment complex in December 2010. Ace Arthur Collins, 25, must pay restitution to the victims following the burglary conviction. He was given credit for 335 days served in jail. Police on Dec. 9, 2010, were called about a number of vehicle break-ins in a garage at an apartment complex at the 7200 block of Guider Drive in Woodbury. Another Burglary Charge for Woodbury Woman

Christine Celeste Burtman was recently linked to a burglary in Lake Elmo.

Christine Celeste Burtman has been charged with another burglary. The latest felony charge stems from a September 2012 incident in Lake Elmo in which a homeowner told police he had an odd run in with Burtman at his home and later learned his mother-in-law's wedding ring was missing. Burtman, 46, was arrested in Woodbury on Jan. 23 after a resident called police when Burtman allegedly tried to enter the house while the resident was home. She was later charged with two counts of attempted burglary, along with a burglary charge in connection with a Jan. 4 crime in Marine on St. Croix. Woodbury Woman Charged With Burglary, Other Felonies

Christine Celeste Burtman was arrested in Woodbury after a resident told police she saw her trying to enter houses in the city’s Homestead Hills neighborhood.

After police arrested a woman who was apparently trying to enter homes in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills neighborhood on Jan. 23, investigators believed she was connected to other residential burglaries. Now, Christine Celeste Burtman, 46, has been charged with burglary stemming from a Jan. 4 incident in Marine on St. Croix, along with two counts of attempted burglary connected to her recent arrest in Woodbury. Burtman, aka Sharon Kay Burtman, was arrested Jan. 23 after a resident called police when she tried to enter the front and back doors of a home at the 8000 block of Greenbriar Lane, according to the complaint. Harley Davidson Tips Woodbury Police About His Own Burglary, Complaint Says

Harley Davidson Sullivan and Jared Michael Sternaman face felony burglary charges stemming from the Jan. 23 incident.

Two men face felony burglary charges after one told Woodbury police about a burglary… and investigators later learned that the duo likely committed the crime themselves. Harley Davidson Sullivan, 18, of Hastings, and Jared Michael Sternaman, 20, of White Bear Lake, both were charged with felony burglary in connection with a Jan. 23 incident in Woodbury. According to the criminal complaints: After responding to an alarm at Prestwick Golf Club at 5:20 a.m. on Jan. 23, an officer spotted an SUV driving slowly through the area. The officer recalled an inner-department memo regarding a theft suspect who drives a similar vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Update: Police Believe Suspect May Be Connected to Other Woodbury Residential Burglaries

A woman was arrested Wednesday in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills neighborhood.

Police believe a woman arrested in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills neighborhood Wednesday may be tied to other residential burglaries in the city. Investigators are “still trying to figure out how extensive those connections are,” said Michelle Okada, Woodbury Police spokeswoman. The suspect, Christine Celeste Burtman, will be charged with two counts of attempted burglary and a count of possessing burglary tools, along with a parole violation, Okada said. Suspect Arrested on Suspicion of Burglary in Woodbury’s Homestead Hills

One resident was home Wednesday afternoon when the suspect tried to enter her house.

An individual was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Woodbury on suspicion of burglary. Police got the call about a suspicious situation in the city’s Homestead Hills neighborhood at about 12:30 p.m., said Woodbury Police spokeswoman Michelle Okada. As of Wednesday afternoon, police were unsure whether the suspect gained entry to multiple homes, she said, and authorities were still deciding what she may be charged with. The person was arrested along Greenbriar Lane, in the neighborhood near the Bielenberg Sports Center. A homeowner called police about the individual, Okada said. “Kudos to the resident,” she said. “It’s nice when the neighbors are looking out for each other.” The homeowner who called 911 said she saw someone try to open her …

Christmas Crime, Counterfeit Cash, Break Down My Door: Woodbury Police Blotter

Selected calls to the Woodbury Public Safety Department from Jan. 8-14.

The following information was obtained from recent police reports. A driver was cited for failure to yield following a head-on crash at Woodlane Drive and Stratford Road. A report of suspicious people in a neighborhood on Oak Ridge Trail turned out to be two people from the Church of Latter-day Saints. Pills, marijuana, a pipe and an open bottle were found in a car with four individuals inside when an officer stopped the vehicle over at the 6000 block of Hudson Road after seeing the occupants acting suspiciously. An employee at the Red Roof Inn called police because she was concerned about a dog a customer had in a room. The renter told the employee she had given the dog “human” pain pills.
