Cocchiarella and his wife Jean purchased Classic Pizza about four years ago, when it was a “somewhat struggling” establishment, he said. He said he changed some of the recipes and got involved with the community when he took over, and “it was just time” to make the name change to Joey’s Pizza. “It’s a part of me,” Cocchiarella said. The school recently sent out a notice to parents about the change: At the end of last year our Mandarin Chinese teachers, Ms. Song and Ms. Liu, sought personal opportunities out of state. Building and district personnel spent months trying to recruit and hire high-quality teachers to replace them. Part of the difficulty is also the state-required licensure for Mandarin teachers. We truly exhausted all sources of where we have received candidates in the past.
