Patch is launching our annual Deck the House Contest in an effort to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—or in other words, the best “decked” house in the country. If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16 to deckthehouse.patch.com/contest/Woodbury. Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch will pay up to $500 of the utility bill for each finalist, while our national winner will have $100,000 donated to his or her local school district. Nearly 300 votes were tallied for our four great photo finalists. Who won the grand prize?
The results are in and after nearly 300 votes, Jen Adams' picture of a stunning view from the clouds has won the finals of Patch's Summer Vacation Photo Contest. For receiving the most votes, Jen wins a the grand prize getaway to Stillwater valued up to $500 that includes an overnight stay at Water Street Inn, a Foodies on Foot adventure and a tour at Northern Vineyards Winery. Jeff Grotte's photo of a "south Moulton barn outside of Jackson on the long drive home from a roadtrip out west" was a close second with 111 votes. Jen qualified for the finals by winning the first of four weekly contests, which also netted her a $25 gift card from Caribou Coffee. Our entry is the first time we've tried Peep art as a family, or any of us had tried it at all. We used traditional yellow peep chicks, and turned them into a scene from the Captain Underpants book series, which is our son's favorite. Thanks!   more ›
