Brief: Crews to Replace Siren Wednesday at Evergreen East Park in Woodbury

The Woodbury Public Safety Department posted the announcement via Facebook.

Crews will be replacing a siren and pole at Evergreen East Park today, Wednesday, Jan. 23. The Woodbury Public Safety Department posted the announcement on its Facebook page: EVERGREEN EAST PARK Ready Watt Electric is in Woodbury today at Evergreen East Park (1250 Radio Drive). They will be removing the old siren and pole and replacing it with new equipment. The company expects to complete this replacement project by the end of the day. The siren needs to be programmed properly to receive activiation and cancellation tones from Washington County to ensure that the siren sounds and rotates properly.   Like Patch on Facebook | Follow us on Twitter | Sign up for our free newsletter

Brief: Slide Burned at Woodbury’s Evergreen East Park

The fire was mostly out by the time the Woodbury Fire Department arrived.

A plastic slide at a Woodbury park was set on fire and melted on March 18. Firefighters were called to Evergreen East Park at about 5:40 a.m., but the fire was mostly out by that point, Woodbury Fire Cmdr. John Wallgren said. The assumption is that juveniles set the fire, which was merely smoldering by the time firefighters arrived. They put out the “hot spots,” according to a police report. No one was found in the area. A resident at the 8200 block of Galway Road reported the fire.
