State Patrol: Lake Elmo Man Suffered Cardiac Arrest Prior to Fatal Crash

A 59-year old Lake Elmo driver went into cardiac arrest before rear-ending a SUV Wednesday evening at the intersection of Highway 36 and Oakgreen Avenue, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

A 59-year old Lake Elmo man died after going into cardiac arrest behind the wheel of his truck Wednesday evening and crashing into a SUV that was stopped at the intersection of Highway 36 and Oakgreen Avenue. The Minnesota State Patrol believes Michael Reinhardt suffered a cardiac arrest prior to rear-ending a Chevy Tahoe that was stopped in the left turn lane on eastbound Highway 36 just before 5:30 p.m. The driver of the SUV, a 34-year-old Hugo woman, received minor injuries as a result of the crash, according to the crash report. Reinhardt was reportedly transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he died.

Sheriff's Office Identifies Oak Park Heights Man Killed in Lake Elmo Crash

The Washington County Sheriff's Office has identified the Oak Park Heights man involved in a fatal crash in Lake Elmo Wednesday morning. Details of the crash remain under investigation.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office has identified the Oak Park Heights man involved in a fatal crash in Lake Elmo Wednesday morning as Nicholas Joseph Taube. Taube, 22, died in a single-car crash at the 3000 block of Lake Elmo Avenue North early Wednesday morning. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office got the call about the crash at about 3:12 a.m. Taube was thrown from the vehicle, according to a release from the sheriff’s office. The crash remains under investigation. This post will be updated as more information is available. Taube’s funeral is planned for Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Stillwater. Visitation is at 10 a.m., and mass will follow at 11 a.m.

Woodbury Residents Die In Iowa Crash

The vehicle they were traveling in went onto the shoulder, overcorrected and rolled.

Two Woodbury residents died in a car crash Thursday afternoon in Iowa. Mary Quinn, 68, and Bernard Quinn, 70, died after the vehicle in which they were traveling drove onto the shoulder and Mary, who was driving at the time, overcorrected and the car rolled over, according to a report from the Iowa State Patrol. The 1999 Buick Park Avenue ended up in an upright position after the crash, which occurred on Highway 218 near Nashua, Iowa. Mary Quinn was wearing her seatbelt; Bernard Quinn was not. Friday morning, an official with the Iowa State Patrol said troopers did not know if they were husband and wife or brother and sister. The crash occurred at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday and is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
