Jump Street: Woodbury’s JoAnn Ward Files for Office
While Ward was the only local candidate to file for office this week, the slate for Woodbury legislative races is set.
On Day 1, JoAnn Ward was the lone candidate for Woodbury legislative races to file for office. The DFL-endorsed candidate for the District 53A House seat filed Tuesday. She was the only person from the three legislative districts that include Woodbury to file this week, according to the Secretary of State’s website. Still, the local slate of candidates from major parties for this year’s election is set. (All state Senate and House districts are up for election this year because of redistricting.) Senate District 53 will pit incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Lillie—who has moved to Woodbury—against Susan Kent. I am really impressed with JoAnn Ward. From what she says about her skills in mediation and negoiation would represent Woodbury well AND make a huge improvement from where our legislature has been these past couple of years.   more ›
