Girl Scout Cookie Time Nears in Woodbury

Woodbury is part of the River Valleys Girl Scout Council, which ranks No. 1 in cookie sales though it’s eighth in membership.

Julie Sexton’s favorite? “Thin Mints, by far.” Girl Scout cookies go on sale Feb. 2, and about 600 girls from the Woodbury area will soon be going door to door, setting up booths, and learning business and interpersonal skills, said Sexton, Woodbury Service Unit cookie manager. “What I really like about the Girl Scout cookie program is it teaches girls responsibility and accountability for themselves as well as for the troop,” she said. “For example, my troop of Juniors (currently in fifth grade) determined their own goals, the troop goal, and the reward for hitting the troop goal each year.
