A 20-year-old Woodbury man who brandished a pistol during a high school party last May has been convicted of recklessly displaying a handgun and possessing a pistol while under the influence. Jacob Scott Hanson was recently sentenced in Washington County District Court to a combined 455 days in jail (385 suspended) and three years of probation, along with other conditions, on the two counts. Witnesses told police that Hanson had been drinking and smoking marijuana at the party, which was attended by some Woodbury High School students, according to the criminal complaint. A Woodbury man was charged with making terroristic threats in Washington County District Court on July 12 after allegedly brandishing a handgun and threatening to shoot someone. Thomas John McGillis, 47, faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine stemming from charges related to a July 10 incident in Woodbury. According to the criminal complaint: Woodbury police were called to a home at the 2400 block of Queensport Road, where the alleged victim was picking up his daughter for a visitation.
