Woodbury Man Accused of Selling Stolen Jewelry Tells Police He Spent Money on ‘Stupid’ Stuff

After an Afton woman had more than $6,000 worth of jewelry go missing, her daughter told police they might want to investigate her boyfriend. Now, Isiah Keith Beatty, 19, of Woodbury, faces felony theft charges and up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted. Authorities on July 13 were dispatched to a home at the 500 block of Fahlstram Place, where a woman said she noticed several pieces of jewelry were missing, including four rings, six necklaces and two bracelets, according to the criminal complaint. Together, the jewelry was valued at $6,189. The woman’s daughter told police she had recently started dating Beatty and “wouldn’t count him out” regarding the missing items.
