Woodbury School Breaks Ground on New Gym/Classroom Facility
The Math and Science Academy expects the new building to be complete by next August.
The Math and Science Academy on Friday held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new $5 million gym/classroom facility. “We’ve got way too many students in that building,” Director Bob Kreischer said, pointing to the main complex for the charter school, which was founded about 13 years ago. The Woodbury school has a waiting list, Kreischer said, and the new structure will allow for smaller classrooms, performance space and physical education classes. Currently, students head over to the YMCA for 90 minutes each week. “To, me, that’s not having phy ed,” he said, adding that a gym teacher will likely be hired.
