About a month ago, the Woodbury Proex Portrait was set to close. Now, the Minnesota stores are under new ownership. “We will be staying open,” said Paul Emmel, manager of the Woodbury Proex. Several longtime customers were upset when news came down that it would close, Emmel said. The Minnesota stores were to close as part of a court-approved bankruptcy liquidation after Ritz Camera & Image failed to find a buyer for the chain, the Star Tribune reported in September. The Woodbury Proex Portrait seemed busy Wednesday afternoon, and it might have been due to the big signs on the windows. The parent company is closing its remaining four Minnesota locations, according to a Star Tribune story. In Woodbury, signs on the windows and in the store advertised 20-40 percent off most items. Workers at the Woodbury store—located at 1575 Queens Drive—couldn't say when it would close. The stores are closing as part of a court-approved bankruptcy liquidation after Ritz Camera & Image failed to find a buyer for the chain, the Star Tribune reports.
